To explore analogue photography and printmaking, I ventured out in my neighbourhood and documented a small, 100-year-old salon run by three brothers in Old Ahmedabad. It was a small space, but was very dynamic in terms of the people and the activities that unfolded, making it interesting for me to observe and choose to photograph with just limited exposure. It was an exercise to slow down, observe better and photograph under limitations in the times where we have unlimited ways and resources to produce content for meaning making.
This series was shot on Illford PAN 100 film with a Cosina C1s camera. It was developed and enlarged in darkroom under the guidance of Dilip Prakash at NID as a part of a course.
